The BRIT Awards Red Carpet 2024

Jack Saunders and Yinka Bokinni took to the BRIT Awards Red Carpet to speak to some of the performers from the show as well as some up and coming artists who are growing infront of our eyes. Yinka spoke to Dua Lipa who was 'dancing the nice away' and she explained that she was here to represent London, there's a lot currently going on at the party and she said she was excited to be nominated as artist of the year, and that if she doesn't win, Raye has had an amazing year.


Jack spoke to Becky Hill who said it was lovely to be back, and explained that she was having a huge moment with Chase and Status, being able to bring drum and bass music to the BRIT awars. Yinka spoke to Ashley Waters explaining that it was a long time ago that she had met him and he aded that the awards are prestige, allowing you to network with a lot of artists. He also said that he was handing out the hip hop and grime award for the night. Joe Keery spoke to Jack who explained it was his first night being in London and was lucky enough to be giving out the award for best new artist. We found out that Raye had been nominated 7 times, Calvin Harris 3 times, the R&B category had a lot of female artists, Olivia Dean was nominated fir 3 BRITS's and Dua Lipa has been a 6 time BRIT winner, can she make it 7!


Raye spoke to Yinka about being at the awards and said she was nevous for her first performance as a solo artist, explaining that she's always working and has always wanted to grt there. She also won the award before the show for being best songwriter of the year. Jack had a chat with Kylie Minogue who has been the biggest start of the show so far, adding that she had been in the business for over 37+ years. She explained that the most important part of her songs is to bring out the history and emotion through.


Yinka spoke to Olivia Dean who was nominated for 3 BRIT awards and was overwhelmed by the event. She explained that she had dreampt of being here whilst she was studying at the BRIT school and was cheering in the crowd back in 2016. Her 2023 highlight was performing at her headline show at The Roundhouse. Jack spoke to new band Jungle who said they were all attending the event for the first time and they were nominated for group of the year. St Vincent also appeared, and gave the rising star award to a band who she said were adventurous, different and dramatic, before handing the title to a girlgroup called The Last Dinner Party, with her advice being...'just do you'.


Rema pulled upto the red carpet to speak to Yinka who said it was nice to see his work being honpured and if would be a blessing for him to win as the first young afrobeats singer. He explained that the UK have a good connection to Nigerian music. Jack said that the Chase and Status boys were 'back in the building' and they needed to bring a little bit of chaos to the event. They said that they are priviledged to stil be doing this and have a lot of new and old fans. Yinka spoke to Little Simz and she said it was nice to see fans welcoming her back. She explained that she would be appreciative if she was to win the award and would give a nod of her head. Her album 'no thank you, was spoken about and she said that her no thank you's were impoliteness, and her yes please's were more love.


Jack also had a chat with CMAT who said 'the crack is 90mph' and explained that she was happy to be nominated for international artist of the year, although she wouldn't win it as she was up against the likes of Kylie Minogue. Headie One and K-Trap spoke to Yinka, explaining that there was a lot of good energy, and Yinka added that if they were to win on their joint project, it would be well deserved. Green Day members Billy Jo and Tre also spoke to Jack and they explained that they did two smaller gigs earlier in the year at The 1-- Club and a Marquee Pub in London, with Yinka explaining to camera that there has been over 30 years of garage music tracks. Ella Henderson explained that she was happy to be here and it was a big yeear for women in music. She explained that once you go to work, you never know what can happen, adding that if she wins she is going to have a lot of pizza and a Facetime with her Nan!


Jack spoke to Caroline Polachek who said she was having sensory overload by being at the event, and that she is here for all of the drama and iconic musicians in her category. Jessie Ware spoke to Yinka and said that she was wearing archived Jean Paul Gautier, adding that she has been put up for a lot of awards and they should just give her the win already. Jack spoke win Tate McRae who was the final artist who joined Jack and Yinka for interview on the carpet, and she explained that she was thankful for the event for inviting her, and that she was excited for her performance. She also explained that there would be no more ice rinks, that was a one time thing!


For the main BRIT's event, we saw artists including Dua Lipa, Becky Hill and Chase and Status, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa, Jungle, Kylie Minogue, Raye, Rema and Tate McRae performing and it was Clara Amfo, Roman Kemp and Maya Jama who hosted the event. Here are the results:
