Hey everyone

For today's blog post I will be reviewing a film that I watched recently which was actually a horror film. 'The Barbarian' is actually available on Netflix and it was a very weird film...The overall storyline involves various people staying at an Airbnb as normal, but on one particular booking it seemed as if the host has accidentally double booked a male and female guest on the same evening. Our main character is a female business professional who ends up knocking on the door and realising there is a man already in the apartment, but after some persuasian and as it's getting late at night, she accepts his offer of staying the night with him.

I must admit... the guy was acting a little bit shifty, asking her to drink wine and celebrate, and then every so often just appearing in different places of the apartment as if he was following her. Throughout the film there are various people who walk in and out of the house - and thankfully she's one of the lucky escapees who initially does not want to flee the scene, but instead grab evidence to prove to people what happened to her. The police and locals don't seem to listen to her story, and even the lady who had an interview with her, advised that she shouldn't be staying in a hotel on the road where she was booked.

In one of the scenes, we see a demon like figure treating some of the characters as if they were her babies, which was instantly a bit strange, but it kind of made sense when the full story was explained. Overall it was a great film, and our female lead character did manage to escape, but it would be interesting to see what happens if there was another film to follow!
