Some of the 'Best Pairings/Duos' in Music, Television and Social Media

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey everyone!

I thought I would create a blog post speaking about some of the best (or most popular) pairings within different types of the creative industry including television and music. I think this post is to highlight the current times that we are living in, and those who are in or were in the spotlight. I'll try and summarise each of the pairings, explaining what they're best known for, some facts about them or just sharing a current picture of them for you to research, if you wanted to find out more!

Firstly, I thought I would start with those who work in television mainly or rose to fame by appearing on television.

Piers Morgan & Susanna Reid, Lorraine Kelly & Mark Heyes, Philip Schofield & Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes & Ruth Langsford and Nadia Sawalha & Kaye Adams are the first 5 pairings I thought I would highlight because, not only are they all panellists on morning shows, but they all present themselves very professionally, and others are more controversial than others, which makes the shows more entertaining and exciting to watch. Piers and Susanna worked together on Good Morning Britain, but since Piers' little disgreement with Alex Beresford, one of the weather presenters, they are no longer working on the same show, Mark is Lorraine's fashion stylist and with Nadia & Kaye, they've delved in television work such as appearing on The Celebrity Circle and Nadia has also appeared on the National soap Eastenders. Other hosts include Ant McPartlin & Dec Donnelly, most predominantly known for presenting 'Saturday Night Takeaway' and 'Britain's Got Talent', Christian Fraser & Katty Kay who present the 10pm - 11pm news on BBC One and highlight the most important news from Washington and London in quite an entertaining way, making me watch almost every night of their show!

Richard Pearson & Brennan Budden are known as the main hosts of 'Filthy House SOS' where they transform people's lives from dirty tips to lovely houses, and it's great to see how much effort they go into to help people out, whilst also sharing some great tips with the public! Simon Cowell & Sharon Osbourne are known for being 2 of the feisty judges on the panel of The X Factor UK where they judge people based on their singing ability to see who deserves the opportunity to be able to change their life by getting a winning contract and a winner's single. Other pairings include Love Island's Iain Stirling & Laura Whitmore, Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman from 'Pointless', Martin Lewis & Lara Lewington known for giving advice and tips on how to save money, and Lara for presenting BBC Click with Spencer Kelly! Some 'throwback' pairings include Richard McCourt & Dominic Wood a.k.a Dick & Dom, The Voice UK's Jessie J & Becky Hill with Becky who went on to be the most successful contestant from the show, Danielle Bregoli a.k.a Bhad Bhabie & Barbara-Ann Bregoli and High School Musical's Troy & Gabriella, aka Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens!

Other pairings of our time are the two main characters on 'Two and a Half Men' known as Alan and Walden, but Jon Cryer & Ashton Kutcher are the amazing actors behind the roles! X Factor UK's Stacey Solomon & Joe Swash who has been in Eastenders and also appeared on 'I'm A Celebrity' are another couple that I think have done incredibly well, moving into their new family home worth over £1,000,000 but also coming up with unique tips of how to clean and create fun experiences with their children...such as allowing them to have a home made sandpit in the bathroom during the coronavirus pandemic! TOWIE's Gemma Collins & James Argent 'Arg' are another couple who have been on our screens quite a lot over the last year, with Gemma releasing a Christmas single, hosting her own programme which shows the GC behind all the glamour, and she also appeared on Piers Morgan: Life Stories where she was able to explain her life before she got famous, and some of the issues she had whilst also trying to keep her brand name popular! A few duos who rose to fame on Britain's Got Talent were dancers Twist & Pulse and Stavros Flatley, and a few of the funny pairings from Channel 4's The Circle were Sian Owen & Freddie Bentley from Series 1, and Jack Quirk & Beth Dunlavey from Series 2...with the revelation that Beth is now dating Connagh Howard from Love Island. Speaking of Love Island, another popular pairing is Tommy Fury & Molly-Mae Hague!

There are also a lot of celebrities and content creators who are using social media to increase their popularity, but also share memories with the world! TikTok stars Charli & Dixie D'Amelio, Jake Quickenden & Sophie Church, who he's had a baby with, Ex Little Mix member Jesy Nelson & Janice White, her mother, Kim Kardashian & Kanye West, Sophia Grace & Rosie McClelland who both rose to fame after performing Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' on the Ellen Degeneres show, James Charles & Ian Jeffrey, Riyadh Khalaf & Josh Harrison, YouTube creators Saffron Barker & Anastasia Kingsnorth, TV personalities Sam Faiers & Billie Faiers and even David Beckham & Victoria Beckham who have been in the spotlight for many years, involved with fashion, charity, music and football among other talents! Although I'm not creating any of my own YouTube content at the moment, other well known duos include Poppy & Titanitic Sinclair who are unfortunately no longer speaking, but they rose to fame through their unique video content, YouTube couple Alfie Deyes & Zoe Sugg, female comedians Bambinobecky & Chi with a C, Liza Koshy & David Dobrik, who are unfortunately also not together anymore, but their bond was incredible, Colleen Ballinger & Miranda Sings, her alter ego and Nicola Teresa DeMartino & Gabriella Nelida DeMartino, known online as Niki & Gabi. Michael Rice & Luena Martinez were another great pairing, who actually performed together at several events, after Michael had won the television show 'All Together Now' in 2018 and also represented the United Kingdom in the 2019's Eurovision Song Contest, and Luena went on to win the first series of X Factor: The Band!

Marcus Rashford & Joe Wicks were among many of the superheroes who rose to promiment fame throughout the coronavirus pandemic, with Marcus prompting the government to get free school means for children, and Joe got the public working out everyday and raising lots of money for charity through his hard wor and determination, even though it has been a difficult year for everyone, including himself. Tom Green & Daisy Maskell had also risen to fame whilst presenting the radio station KISS FM, and Daisy has since gone on to present KISS FRESH and has been working on her debut documentary called 'Insomnia & Me' which will be released later this year. The final social media pairs which people might not know about, include Abbey & Lisa and Bradley Hunt & Ottavio from The X Factor, two of the auditions that went viral around the world!

In the world of politics, the promiment figures include Donald Trump & Melania Trump, President Joe Biden & Jill Biden, Boris Johnson & Matt Hancock and their 'handling' of the coronavirus pandemic, and add Sir Keir Starmer & Andy Burnham in there too...and don't forget William & Kate and Harry & Meghan who have been all over the news recently...some good news, bad news and also some ugly news! The final duos that I wanted to highlight, are those in the music industry! Bars & Melody were two of the youngest contestants on the voice, Leondre Davies & Charlie Lenehan and John & Edward a.k.a Jedward were contestants on The X Factor UK. Billy Ray Cyrus & Miley Cyrus are both prominent figures in the rock and music industry, James Arthur & Anne Marie collaborated on The Greatest Showman's 'Rewrite The Stars' and Eoghan Quigg & Diana Vickers were supposedly dating, back on 2008's The X Factor UK, with Diana recently appearing on Celebrity Karaoke Club! The final pairs include Alfie Boe & Michael Ball who released their first Christmas album together, Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello have now moved in with eachother, with Shawn being discovered on YouTube and Camila being part of girlband Fifth Harmony on The X Factor USA, and finally HRVY & Loren Gray, TikTok and social media stars, with HRVY who also took part in Strictly Come Dancing and made it to the final, losing to Bill Bailey & Oti Mabuse!

So, I hope you enjoyed that list of the current celebrities, influencers, content creators, presenters and role models that I look upto at the moment, and I hope to look back at this blog post in the next 5, 10 and even 15 years to see where all of these people are then, the new generation of individuals or hidden family members and friends who will get their time in the spotlight! Comment down below any duo's or pairings that you think about, know about or want to highlight on this post and I'll be back soon with more blogs soon!
