Hey everyone,
Rag'n'Bone Man is back with another incredible single and music video, after the release of his first album including the amazing single 'Human' which I cannot get out of my head! He is soon to be releasing his newest album, but here's a quick review of his first single from the new album!
At the beginning of the music video you could see Rag at a train station reading a massive newspaper, but then a few seconds later it was obvious to see that the entire music video was being shot from a little toy village set which was a great way of showcasing the video! There were some characters holding magazines with different headlines including 'fake news is real' and 'slugs: the new diet', bringing the stories to life with each of the individual shops and scenes being shown in toy form and then in human form!
Some of Rag's lyrics include 'everyone is falling, we don't see them' which could identify that there are people dying or disappearing all of the time and it's very difficult to stay up to date with every individual case, and as humans we are also unable to know veryone who's living and then sadly dies, so I think the point he is trying to make, is that loss happens all of the time and it's not controllable. He further sings the lyrics 'money slipping right through the tracks, it's a shame we don't really see what we have' which could explain that people are constantly spending money on things, whether it's clothes, food, accessories or other things, but people aren't spending time with those around them or seeing what they already have in their life which isn't artificial.
Towards the end of the music video, there seems to be a very smiley old man in a white top who looks to be opening a packet of cereal, but instead it's a packet of toy humans who all fall to the ground, and this could be the example of where everyone's time comes to an end eventually, and one person is in control of all of that. The final part of the video sees Rag standing on top of a building, almost as if he has survived a lot of bad experiences and is grateful for where he is now!
