London vs Brighton; visiting both towns for BRUNCH

Hey everyone,
For today's blog post, I'll be discussing 'BRUNCH' that I have experienced in two different cities; London and Brighton. A 'brunch' is simply a combination of the words breakfast and lunch, and is usually a gathering of a group of people who have food and complimentary drinks for a set period of time. As a recent non-drinker, I didn't get involved in the brunch set menu, but instead ordered my own meal and side dish, accompanied by water. Also, they don't tend to do strong alcoholic drinks as part of their brunch menu, usually tequilas or fruity cocktails which aren't my thing anyways.
In London, we were just outside London Victoria train station for the brunch at 'The Soak'; and the restaurant was very elegantly laid out, with nice velvet furniture and wide spaces in between tables so it didn't feel like you were being squashed in. After eating our food and having our selection of drinks, we were accompanied over to another area of the restaurant where we were able to stand and chat to eachother away from the dining area. I think in total we had a large group of around 15-20 people, which included the host's friends from school, old places of work and drama club. We ended up at a bowling club which had a karaoke machine, and that's where the night ended before heading home!
In contrast, the brunch is Brighton was at Las Iguanas and it was a very loud and colourful atmosphere, with colours popping on each of the walls. The table was quite spread out but it was one of those tables that because we had a smaller group, it was difficult to speak to people at the other side of the table, although we did manage to make it work. Again, I decided to opt for the non brunch food menu which meant that the meals were a little bit more expensive due to them not being included in our deal, but the food tasted really nice, although the portion for myself was quite small, and everyone's food came out at different times. The bathroom was also avery colourful space which had a lot of photo opportunities, but I wanted to save my phone battery as we planned to head out later during that day. We did a variety of pub changes, before ending up at a nice bar which changed their prices depending on interest rates rising and decreasing, which was a very interesting way to set prices. At the end of the evening, myself and a friend ended up on a night out in town, and stayed until the early hours of the morning before returning home!
Both of the brunch experiences were quite good and had lots of photo opportunities, but because I was around a handful of people I hadn't met before, I felt like I needed to tone my content side down and enjoy the experience and start geting to know people or at least engaging in small conversation so I didn't seem anti-social. I think both events were really good and they both led to further events throughout the day and evening, but for me personally, I don't think brunches are something I am going to be doing regularly; purely because of the cost, especially if I'm not drinking, and I think a nice dinner and bottle of water at home would have satisfied me just as much!
Anyways, enough brunch talk! Until next time, goodbye!
