Hey everyone,
For today's video, 'I Don't Need No Money' singer Imani Williams has released a short collaboration with singer K Camp for their latest single 'Attached'. I actually missed listening to music from Imani so I am excited that she is slowly releasing some new music, and I'm hoping for some new music videos so that I can review them and give her the attention that she deserves!
In the video we can see that she is standing outside in a telephone on the high street with a sign that says 'live music' next to the box. This might be a sign that she will be performing live again soon. The overall theme of the video looks like a retro game style shoot, with lots of pink, blue and black items featured in shot. Imani sings the lyrics 'you say that you're missing me' which suggest this is a song where somebody is trying to get her attention. She adds the lyhrics 'you make it hard to walk away, you make it hard for me to stay' which explain that this is a complicated relationship where she's unsure if it's better for her to stay in the situation or move onto a new person.
Throughout the video we can see the camera panning further away from Imani as she continues to dance and vibe to the track and also stand in the telephone box and holding the phone. Both artists began explaining how they are 'staring at our text messages' which Imani adding that 'we were so attached' almost hinting that both people in this relationship know that they had a close bond and they are trying to fix the situation that they were once in. K Camp raps the line 'I call you phone, haven't seen you in a minute - we keep arguing back and forth, the more we argue, that makes me want you more' which are all words to suggest that he is still interested in somebody and wanting to put that energy into them. Where he explains that more arguments makes him want someone more, almost suggests that people only argue because they care about the other person or people that the disagreements are with. The final part of the music video shows the camera panning back in towards the artist standing in the telephone box which fades out to black!
Hopefully you enjoyed my review - and until next time, goodbye!
