Hey everyone,
I thought I would write a short post about a film I decided to watch as it was on London Live recently. 'Doctor In The House' was a comedy film released in 1954 (quite a long time before I was born), but after reading the description of it, I realised it was about 3 doctors who teamed up with a new medical student, who seemed to be on the right path and ends up in all kinds of trouble. Dirk Bogarde, Kenneth More and Donald Sinden are the main actors in the film and the storyline was incredible.
Throughout the film, the students are put to the test in real life hospital situations and have to diagnose what the problems are with patients, they are also told not to talk to the nurses on the ward in a non-professional way and the aim for all of the students is to become professional doctors...but we find out some of them purposely fail their exams, some of them aren't learning enough to pass, and the main problem for the group of students is that they are constantly distracted by their female counterparts and are threatened of being expelled from the course.
It's a great film to watch, and shows an insight to life 'back then', but also shows that if you hang out with the wrong crowds of people, you might often sacrifice yourself from achieving your own goals or dreams! In the end things worked out well for everyone, but it's interesting to see which characters are discovered along the way!
