Caroline Polachek 'Smoke' - Music Video Review

Hey everyone,

For today's review, I will be speaking about a song that I found by Caroline Polachek!

The song is called 'Smoke' and the music video begins with some orange lights and a mountain in the background with lots of orange and black coloured objects to make the video quiet visually pleasing the entire way through. We see her emerge from the shadows and onto the stage where you can see her wearing a white hirt and dark makeup. She sings the lyrics 'it's just smoke flooding over the volnaco' and we can also be introduced to the silhouettes of the members of the band including the drummer and guitarists in the background.

There are 'na na na' vocals and it almost looks like that for some of the video she is standing on a green screen with some of the red, black and orange coloured aspects behind her. Some other lyrics include 'don't worry about me it's just smoke, take a bullet for my baby the one thing that will save me' which suggest that she is somebody who will do things to help or save other people from bad situations.

Towards the end of the video there is a nice video shot of her dancing and singing in the red circle with seems to be covered with smoke, and there are lots of random sounds, noises and audio effects in the background which make the song more unique and interesting. It's definitely a great watch and a great listen!

Hopefully you enjoyed the review, and until next time... goodbye!
