Camila Cabello 'Don't Go Yet' - Music Video Review

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey all,

In today's music video review I decided to watch a new music video from Camila Cabello who has come back with a new song called 'Don't Go Yet'.

At the beginning of the music video there are a group of unique looking people sitting at a dinner table ready for a massive buffet of food, all with serious looks on their faces and frozen in a position. Camila is introduced in the video wearing a white, green and red coloured outfit with red gloves, a bouquet of flowers in the background and a green wall which is a really nice shot to see her in before the video transitions back to the dinner where Camila is now seen in a black dress, engaging with all of the dinner guests.

The overall vibe of the song sounds quite Cuban/Spanish and some of the lyrics in the song include 'what you leaving for, while my night is yours' which could suggest that Camila is currently spending time with somebody but doesn't want them to leave as early as they are planning to. During the video there are lots of dancers performing various routines, with their colourful, vibrant and unique outfits and styles with Camils on centre stage. There is a short segment of the video where she is seen wearing a blue dress with matching makeup, dancing with a few of the elderly guests as well as holding onto a man's leg while he seems to be on a pretend phone call.

Camila's other lyrics include 'a little bit of drama in my bed' which hint that she wants more than a friendship and she's after a little bit of fun, with the added words 'gotta get you baby' which suggest that she has to try and win somebody over. Towards the final part of the video, she sings the words 'stay a little longer' multiple times as the bridge to the final part of the song, and her vocals sound a little bit like Ariana Grande, but you can tell it's Camila...it's just a slight comparison! In the video she seems really vibrant, happy and excited to be in an environment with other people, and the use of props, instruments and clothing make it really exciting to watch.
