'Britain Get Singing' (2022) - TV Review

Updated: Apr 9, 2023

Hey everyone,

A recent television show that was shown on Christmas Eve and hosted by Roman Kemp, was called 'Britain Get Singing' in aid of the ITV charity Britain Get Talking, raising awareness about mental health and to try and bring some entertainment to those who might be facing a difficult Christmas and New Years this year.

The show saw 5 teams singing a different song in order to impress the studio audience and the guest judges; comedian Jason Manford, Adam Lambert, Alesha Dixon and Will.i.am. The teams were from shows including The Chase, Emmerdale, Love Island, Coronation Street and Loose Women.

The first group to perform were from Coronation Street where they performed 'This Is Me' from The Greatest Showman where Michael got a little emotional but then explained that he was super excited!

Up next was team Love Island who, after a shaky few vocals performed a lovely rendition of 'Last Christmas', followed by Loose Women who sang 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' which made Brenda a little emotional after losing her son earlier in the year.

The fourth performance was by 3 of the chasers from The Chase who performed 'I'm Still Standing', with the Emmerdale cast closing the show with 'Merry Christmas Everyone'.

The winning team was Loose Women which consisted of Brenda Edwards, Judi Love, Linda Robson, Denise Welsh, Kelle Bryan and Colleen Nolan. All of the singers performed a group song of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.
