An invitation to a lovely engagement party

Hey everyone,

Last weekend I was invited to an engagement party celebration for Freya and Callum, two of my work colleagues who will soon be 'tying the knot'. The timing was from 12 lunchtime until evening time, so I turned up fashionably late just after 13:30pm and the venue was still quite empty. When I arrived there were some other work colleagues, friends, and friend's of both of the hosts so I was just working out who to go and speak to. Throughout the afternoon, there was a DJ, a large variety of cold and hot foods inside, including meat, potatoes, large vegetables and mini tomato ketchup and mayonnaise pots - as well as a BBQ outside which was cooking burgers, sausages and kebabs.

Thankfully it was a nice day, and the venue had a lovely outside area with tables and garden chairs, as well as two sun recliners and an inside space for when it decided to get cold later on. We were all discussing work, leisure, how lovely it was to see people outside of work and our plans for the evening that day. I was able to finally meet one of my colleague's partners who I heard good things about but never met before, and he was really friendly which is good (and also originally from London) so we both understood how expensive and dangerous the nightlife can be there, if you're in the wrong place.

We got one massive group photo which I'm still yet to see, but it was nice to see such a wide range of people at the celebration, and it's usually a sign that a handful of those invited to the engagement party will be invited to the wedding, but let's see what happens! But also, it shows that the bride and groom to be are quite popular as they have a good support of friends and family around them. In their card, I also put that if Callum is ever unsure what to buy Freya, just buy her food...because she's ALWAYS eating when we are in the office!
