3 entertainment shows you should be watching in 2021...including the controversial 'Masked Singer'

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey all,

I thought I'd made a short blog post to write about three of the shows I have been watching in 2021! 2020 is most certainly a year that I'm sure everybody wants to try and forget, so why not start the year with some fun, light hearted, talent shows and put COVID to the side at the moment? That's one way everybody can follow the government guidelines of not leaving their houses...ANYWAYS, let me tell you what I have been watching!

The Masked Singer, is the first show that aired at the beginning of this year for a second season! It got mixed reviews last year, but one of the main changes to the show is the judging panel! Comedian Mo Gilligan has taken over from Ken Jeong due to government guidelines making it more difficult to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, and joined original judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Rita Ora.

The aim of the show isn't to find new talent, but celebrities from all different parts of the media come together to hide their identities and then it's upto the judges to try and work out who they all are based on their introduction videos, their hints throughout the show and just their overall personality, potentially their accent (if it's not being disguised) and anything they say during their time on the stage. At the end of each episode, one character gets eliminated and they have to reveal their true identity after even begins chanting 'Take it off' - which doesn't sound like the sort of thing you would say on a family friendly talent show but oh well! The show is hosted by comedian Joel Dommett (one of my personal favourites) and is on every Saturday and Sunday!

Below are some of the outfits featured in the second series of the show...but who are the hidden celebrities standing alongside Rita Ora??? Watch to find out!

The Voice UK, is the second show on my list that I have been watching as it seems unknown singers and rappers becoming into potential superstars, musicians and pop stars like Becky Hill, one of few singers who made it big by appearing on the show! Judges will.i.am, Olly Murs and Sir Tom Jones were to be joined by Anne Marie, as the newest judge on the panel as Meghan Trainor was off having a child and was therefore not present during the filming! Who will be the big names celebrated by appearing on the show, and will there be any stand out auditions like there have been over the previous years??? Watch to find out!

The third and final show on my recommended list for January 2021 is a new dating show called The Cabins which is on throughout the week on ITV2. The concept of the show is simple. There are 3 different cabins which 3 newly formed 'cabin mates' are sent to in order to try and find love. After 24 hours of being with eachother, they have to decide whether to leave separately, leave as a 'cabin couple' or stay for another 24 hours if they are unsure where their head is...We've met Olivia & Tom, Sarah & Char and Abraham & Sofia among some new arrivals, but I'm not going to give anything away, so this is just going to be a generic blog post! During the 24 hours the couples cook, clean, drink, play games, dance and even snuggle up in the jacuzzi outside...but will they find friends, will they find love, or will they have just wasted upto 72 hours with somebody that they don't see a future with?

As with some other shows and news programmes, I am going to try and live tweet when shows are on to try and get some attention online, as this gains more attention that writing very detailed reviews on a blog post...and defeats the point of watching a show! It's better to watch a show and tweet as and when I can, to engage with others who are watching the show, and also draw people to my online persona! Below are two of the engagements I've had with ITV2 on Twitter...so I'm basically famous, or they're just flirting!

The Masked Singer, The Voice UK and The Cabins are shows that I will be watching until they're finished! Just a quick note, I'm sure there are going to be other shows starting including:

-Love Island

-Britain's Got Talent

-Strictly Come Dancing &

-The Circle UK among others...so stay tuned for the new television content on its way!
