THE LIVE FINAL OF THE CIRCLE, SERIES 2! Yes, I was very excited and this was a very intense final! Firstly, each of the players received one final alert, for who they believe should win the money and why...and they all found out that they were going to meet eachother face-to-face! It was a very dramatic turn of events, and 'Sammie' knew he would eventually have to reveal his identity to the people who believed he was a single mother...
Emma Willis then entered Ella into the studio to have her first television interview since leaving the game! She was obviously very gutted, but it was also revealed to her that 'Sammie' was indeed...not 'Sammie', but James!
'Sammie' was the first player to enter the finalists room and composed herself until the rest of the players came in. First, it was Tim who entered and wanted to know almost straightaway why James decided to be a catfish, to which he told the story of him being brought up by a single mother. He also revealed that he wanted to get Ella out of the competition between she was popular among the other players...
Georgina then entered and was also quite shocked to see the real identity of 'Sammie', but explained that the full 'Circle of Trust' made it to the final...Tim obviously questioned what it meant, and it all started to make sense for Tim. Enter Paddy, and all the real players were shocked that eachother were actually real...but explained that he had an instant connection with Georgina because he knew that she understood what it felt like to have a disease or a disability, but thought Tim could potentially have been a catfish.
Last but not least, Woody entered, and didn't really notice 'Sammie' straightaway, until he realised that there was no blonde woman sitting at the table...
Each of the remaining players came out one by one to have their short interview time with Emma Willis! Here's a summary of what each of the players spoke about...:
Tim - Spoke about 'Sammie' and his initial reaction was to be angry, but once he listened to why James decided to go in as a woman, he calmed down and began to understand his reasons why. Tim also revealed that he had already started discussing 'catfish traits' in 'Sammie' with previously blocked player Sy, the farmer, but he couldn't quite put his finger on whether it was accurate or not at the time. Finally, he discussed with Emma how he tried to save Ella, but as Georgina was fighting for the other team, sjhe was not going to let Paddy go!
Georgina - When speaking about her gameplan and the initial moving in to The Circle, she admitted that initially, everyone could be a catfish, so if they weren't real, she wouldn't be let down, but also felt like she got completely played by 'Sammie' due to the whole catfish scenario. Emma also added how she had some really important discussions in the show regarding her Crohn's disease, especially with Richard Madeley, which was a conversation that got a lot of people talking!
Paddy - As a late player to go into the game, he wasn't sure he would fit in straight away, but just hoped that they would integrate him into the groups they had already formed. He was complimented as being 'naturally funny', and he explained that his reasoning to go into The Circle without having to explain his disability of cerebral palsy, was that people wouldn't be able to judge him based on his looks or ability, and that having any form of disability doesn't restrict anyone from having a 'glam lifestyle'. He also admitted that he didn't believe Ella or Woody would have saved him from being blocked, which is why when Georgina became the influencer (on behalf of Paddy and 'Sammie'), he knew that he was through to the final and that Georgina wouldn't snake him at the last hurdle!
Woody - The interesting thing about Woody as a player, was that he went in without revealing his celebrity parents, and he felt like it would have been different, but whenever a sticky question came up in a conversation regarding celebrities or his parents, he would always try and 'dance around the question' to avoid answering it. Emma Willis also praised Woody for his detective skills and 'catfish board', especially when he started finding aspects of 'Sammie's conversations to not be as genuine as they were previously. His mum, Zoe Ball, was then asked about Woody's little flirt with Richard Madeley (who was playing 27 year old 'Judy') and although it was quite embarrasing for Woody, looking back on it now, everyone seemed to find it entertaining!
Last but certainly not by any means the least, 'Sammie' a.k.a James came on for the final interview! He admitted to finding it difficult to catfish, and that there were some times that he didn't think he would be able to keep this other persona up, but he kept trying to brave onwards and upwards, and ended up in the final five! The thing that motivated him to keep going was that he remembered why he was taking part on the show...to try and help his mum after everything she had done for him being a single mum. He also said that he was very close to revealing his true identity to Paddy, because he felt like he could trust him that much!
ALERT! Emma Willis told the final five, along with the live audience in the studio and at home, that £70,000 would be given to the person who was voted highest at the top of the ratings, but £30,000 would go to the 'public's choice' of their favourite player (which could have been same person, or somebody different)...For those of you that may or may not remember The Circle, Series 1...Alex Hobern a.k.a 'Kate' won both the £70,000 prize AND the £30,000 public vote!
It was revealed that TIM won the 'public choice' and automatically earned £30,000!
Overall in 5th place was Woody, joint third place was Tim and 'Sammie' (James), and it was between Georgina and Paddy who would win the £70,000...!
Georgina came 2nd, and it was PADDY who won the ultimate prize, just under three weeks in an apartment, playing The Circle...where ANYONE could be ANYONE!
That's it for The Circle UK, Series 2. If you enjoyed my blog posts, then don't forget to share them...and until Series 3, Goodbye!
