After the last Episode of The Circle, we found out that Tally was the next player to be blocked from the game, and we found out that she went to go and see Manrika, with her initial reaction 'omg you're actually real'. Manrika came clean to explain that she rated Tally last, only because of their last conversation, and her worry that Tally would have tried to evict Felix if she became an influencer. Tally admitted that she was really shocked at Andy, and also asked Manrika if she drew the snake picture, to which she said yes. After a gladd of bubbly and a little hug, Manrika suggested that they stay friends outside of The Circle, and explained that she has to play the game, and wanted to win the money to she could help her mum get back on track. Andy said that he wanted to meet one of the players, and he keeps blocking them but doesn't actually get to see them. Vithun explained that he didn't understand what happened with Tally's blocking, and that Manrika must have contributed to her downfall. Manrika explained that it was the hardest day for her in the game yet, but she was glad it was over. Andy added that the reason he blocked Tally was because she was the player he consistently rated the lowest and he had to be true to himself. Dorothy was surprised and explained that Andy saved her back, so he must be rooting for her, and Manrika said that losing her closest ally in the game was worrying.
Gemma explained that 2 people had her back; Andy and Syed, and added that it was 'time to come clean with Andy and tell him who I really am'. The newsfeed was updated and before Tally's video was played, Andy said 'hopefully I've got this right' and Tally's goodbye video message was played for the other players who were all quite shocked that Tally was actually real. Vithun explained that he was 'actually surprised Tally was real' and Andy admitted that he was still happy his decision, but explained that some of the other players might think that Tally came to see him after she explained that people have game plans. Vithun replied to Manrika's generic message which made him come to the conclusion that the people that have left the game don't matter anymore, and Gemma added that now Tally is gone, the 'Geezer Gals' are over, she didn't trust Manrika and definitely in the bottom 2. She added that 'everything in my gut says that if I come clean with Andy, he might just go with it'. Felix started another private chat with Manrika, to which she said 'I didn't want to speak to him today' adding that she would be invested in the conversation, just not emotionally invested. Felix asked Manrika who she thought wrote the message about the fast paced relationship comment in the game from yesterday which Manrika was shocked to find out wasn't written by Felix. She said 'everytime something bad is said, it always boils down to her' (Gemma). Manrika also stated that 'now that I know he didn't send that message, I feel different, I feel better' and the 'ick' had gone!
Gemma decided that she would start a private chat with Andy, saying that 'Andy's been my main ally since the start'. She asked him how he was getting on after the previous blocking, and Andy asked how Gemma was feeling after losing a close ally from the game. Gemma said 'I've really been thinking about what you said, about integrity the other day...I feel like you are my only true friend so there's something I want to tell you', and after Andy said 'what is about to happen?', Gemma revealed that it was true she was there to raise money for the NHS but didn't want to be judged for who she really is. She re introduced herself by saying 'Hi Andy, my name is James, I'm 47, but you may know me better as Hunter from the 90's TV show Gladiators'. She added that it was going to happen and that the 'truth will set you free'. Andy admitted that he didn't know what to think but revealed that his entire gameplan has worked. Gemma said that Andy had the upper hand, but he needed at least one of his allies to know that he was a catfish. Andy stated that 'I'll stay tight with Gemma, but we can't have a catfish win The Circle...'. Gemma was wondering what Andy was thinking about her latest revelation, admitting 'I'm literally in his hands'. Andy said that he could just go and tell everyone and that would get Gemma blocked, but he needed to decided what to do with the information he's now been given.
Two new players joined The Circle, and we were introduced to them both! Up first was 'Pippa' who explained that she's not just a pretty face. She studied a masters degree in Law and now works as a commercial litigation paralegal. She also explained that she's going in as herself, as people think that because she's a glamorous girl, people will assume that she must lack intelligence. She explained that after a night out she likes playing poker, addressing the rumours that 'other people let you wn because you're pretty'. She wanted to look for the fakes and snakes, connect the dots and come for the catfishes. On her bio, she decided to include travel, food and Manchester as they were all good conversational starters. The second play to enter was 'Joey' who was an entrepreneur from London, and admitted he was going in as himself, but with a little twist. He was going to take on the persona as 26 year old 'Femi' who has 2 jobs and is an immigrant from Nigeria. His 3 aims were to play with people's hearts, minds and then their money, and admitted that he goes to Nigeria every year so understands the food, culture and language. He added onto his profile that he was 'ready to start yet another journey' which could make people ask about his journey before this, allowing him to share his story.
Once it was revealed that 2 new players were joining The Circle, Manrika shrieked 'two new players?!?' but then stated that 'maybe it's someone fit?'. Pippa was interested to find out who the other new player was, and suggested that maybe they could stick together. Andy said that 'hopefully it's not another NHS nurse'...and admitted that it was tough for Gemma, because 'once you've shown your hand, it's a quite hard thing to live in the lie'. Femi and Pippa had a little look around at people's profile and Femi was surprised that Dorothy still goes line dancing at the age of 85...and thought it was weird that Gemma didn't have a picture of her dog on her profile. Gemma then stated that she needed to target Pippa and get her into a girly group. Femi admitted that he had been through the recruitment process in the UK so he could catch Felix out...and Pippa added that 'he's single, I'm single, maybe this could work out in my favour. Manrika stated that this would be an 'opportunity to get 2 new allies on my side' and after a flirty introduction comment to welcome Femi, Felix questioned her actions by saying; 'are you flirting young woman?'. Andy admitted that 'it's so weird knowing what I know about Gemma' and she explained that Andy knew about her teaching yoga, so she has to keep him on track of what she's saying. Andy's introduction question for the new players was to 'tell us one thing that would surprise us?'. Femi admitted that he went to a military school back home in Nigeria to which Felix replied 'I think we will get on just fine #MilitaryBoys' and Pippa admitted that she didn't want to reveal too much about the fact that she is good at poker, so said that she has a birth mark on her left knee in the same spt as her Grandad, but he died 6 weeks before she was born. After the circle chat closed, Femi said 'I have a good kind of feel of what's going on' and Pippa said 'not all of you are who you say you are. I'm not finished talking with any of you in this chat.
Manrika stated that she 'lost her best mate' so needed a new ally, and if it could be Femi then that would be great. She started a private chat with him, and his initial reaction was 'Manrika is really good to look at' and explained that he was new to the UK so needed to focus the conversation on supporting his family...so he could take advantage of this conversation; and a friendship or relationship could be good. After Manrika welcomed Femi to the game, he explained that he hasn't been in country too long and that 'me being here is a blessing as I'm supporting my family by being in the UK'. Manrika stated that she was already in one entanglement in The Circle and wasn't ready to get into another...and after admitting that she would introduce Femi to her mother and cook him food all of the time, he seemed to get the impression that she was flirting and ended up sending a kissing avatar emoji...
It was 'Party Time' to welcome both Femi and Pippa to the game, with Pippa saying 'this is what I need, a welcome party!'. The party involved questions, with Captain Femi on the Green team with Manrika, Felix and Syed, and Captain Pippa was on the Purple team with Gemma, Andy, Dorothy and Vithun (who wasn't chosen by either team). For each round there was a different subject, and each captain had to select who would play, in order to see which opponent would win each battle. The first subject was Biology and it was Femi against Gemma. The question was 'what is the total number of ribs that most adults have', and Femi said 14, but after Gemma looked in her biology book, she revealed it was 12 X 2 which equals 24, and got a point for the purple team! Andy stated that Gemma either got away with that answer or she's playing another game, with Manrika adding 'maybe she is a nurse?'. The next category was Geography and it was Vithun vs Manrika. The question was 'what is the capital of Turkey' and although Manrika confidently said Istanbul due to a Turkish boy she was dating at University...Vithun got the correct answer by saying Ankara! The final topic was history and it was Dorothy vs Syed. The question asked 'who became Prime Minister after Margaret Thatcher?' and after both catfish looked for the anwer in their books, Pippa's team won by a total of 3-1...'congratulations Pippa's team you are the winners'. Syed said 'well played Pippa' and Femi added that this was 'not a good first impression...'.
At the end of the episode we found out that both Femi and Pippa would choose a player to become an influencer, with Femi saying 'this is mental'. Gemma stated that Andy is a top man, adding that they seriously bonded today. Pippa stated that 'if at the moment I was to pick myself, I'd pick Gemma' and Manrika stated that the 'last thing I need is Gemma because she would get rid of me like that'. Andy also added that 'my biggest danger is Gemma'. Well, let's find out what happens in tomorrow's episode who is chosen by the new players!
