Some content creators that I thought I'd showcase! Genres include Comedy, Gaming & Weekly vlogging!

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey everyone!

During the coronavirus pandemic I've not really been watching any new creators, whether it be on YouTube or social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok, but back when I was active on social media in 2017-2019 mainly, I discovered a variety of creators whose content was incredibly unique, sometimes funny and even sometimes a bit stupid, but it definitely made me feel a lot happier, and stopped me from stumbling across other creators who just create for the sake of creating! Below are a list of some of my favourites, just so I don't forget about them in the future...and also, to remind myself who I liked at this age (20+ years old), to stalk their social media channels and see what they've grown into!

Alan Tsibulya

Alan is one of the funniest Australian online creators that I have stumbled across, but it's a shame he's been very quiet online for a while! I believe I found him initially through Facebook where he would create funny videos about serious topics and issues, like what to buy people on Valentine's day, problems that students deal with and many others! He also took part in the trend of trying American candy and got over 250,000 views on that video alone!

Alyx Weiss (a.k.a 'ayydubs')

Alyn is an American content creator known mainly for her Uber pranks on innocent customers! Individuals book a ride and she explains that she 'completely distresses innocent people'. Other types of content she creates include vlogs, advice videos, skits, sketches, and sometimes she collaborates with her content creator friend Jenn McAllister a.k.a 'JennxPenn'

Ben Morris

There are probably a lot of content creators online who create similar content to Ben, but I stumbled across one of his videos several years ago after he attended a football event called Soccer Six! Ben and some of his other YouTube friends that include Millie T, Jordan Houston and Spencer Elmer (a.k.a ElmoFilms) create quite interesting but also entertaining content, that whenever a video of theirs appears on my YouTube recommended, I have to see what they're getting upto!

Sam Morris (a.k.a 'Just Sam Morris')

Sam is the first creator on my list that isn't a 'YouTuber' but he has uploaded a few singing videos onto the platform. He is mostly known for his abstract and erotic media content which involves men being engaged with a variety of different scenes, feeling comfortable within their own skin. He has items for sale on his website including 'Two Men Showering' and even some self portraits and self branded items. One of his websites called 'Other Boys & Lovers' celebrates the discussion around sex and body positivity in a romantic way, breaking the taboo of having 'multiple sexual partners' as he describes on his website

Chris Stanley (a.k.a 'Stan Chris')

I discovered Chris when he began posting LGBTQ+ related content on both his Instagram page and YouTube channel under the username 'twinkstan' but then he changed his name and decided to re brand his channel. Some of his most popular videos include 'Answering questions my straight friend has for me' and various TikTok compilations and storytimes that he decides to share with his audience! He's currently only 20 years old, and born on April 18th so an Aries like me, and he's American!

Mikey Angelo (a.k.a 'Mr Grande')

Mikey is another young but also very talented content creator, who is mostly known under his stage name as 'Mr Grande' due to being an incredible fan of pop legend Ariana Grande. The majority of his videos are rap battles between different people or things, including Nicki Minaj vs Barbie, James Charles vs Tati Westbrook and even a parody of the song 'WAP' featuring President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris! I find it incredibly impressive, how he is able to come up with such funny and unique raps about things and stories that are trending around the world! His other content includes games videos with the number one hit of 2020 'Among Us', various videos speaking about Zodiac signs and their true meaning and rap battles that Mikey has with various things around the house, including with his Amazon Alexa for example!

Antonio Garza

The next content creator is called Antonio Garza and she's incredibly unique. She is another American creator, and went through the difficult process of transitioning from female to male, now identifying as a transgender female! Her content is also quite funny to watch due to the way she edits her content with weird sound effects and transitions between clips, but I also noticed that she has deleted quite a lot of her old videos which is quite sad, because I pretty much watched every single one of her videos. She is known for appearing in a makeup collaboration video alongside James Charles, and 3 months ago; (back in November of 2020) she uploaded a video titled 'I almost quit YouTube forever and here's why *not a joke*' with written credits at the end 'thanks for listening to me complain about my struggles and stuff lol...but I'm going to fix my life and start posting more', so let's see if she comes back in 2021 or the near future to create any new content!

...And here's some other creators who aren't necessarly 'famous' or well known around the world, but they seem to have a consistent and loyal audience who come back to watch their content and I thought I'd include them in this blog post!

Dylan Reeves-Fellows (a.k.a 'Student Vlogs - Dylan')

His YouTube video states that he's an Economics and Finance Graduate from the University of York who is now seeking a Masters in Professional Acting. It's a massive change in career, but I fele like I've been on the University experience with Dylan, as most of his videos show his journey from Secondary school through to end of his degree, creating relatable videos that any University student can understand the struggles with; including dealing with UCAS, University shopping, 'Day in the life' vlogs of a student, late nights or early mornings and his ability to incorporate his love for travelling and investing within some of his content, and sharing that with the world!

Elise Wheeler

Elise is a huge fan of Little Mix, which originally consisted of 4 members before Jesy sadly decided to quit the band, but all of her content is around the girls and their journey from The X Factor to where they are now. She does makeup tutorials so that you can recreate some of their music video looks, she rates their albums, songs and even live performances on shows as well as doing Little Mix Q&A's and even speaking about her own experience of meeting them almost 7 years ago! She involves as many of the #MixerArmy as she can and she's gained a big platform from just speaking about what she loves!

Ethan Smallwood (a.k.a 'The Student Doctor' / 'Doctor Ethan')

He is known as the 'Student Doctor' to many of his fans online, but he's just an ordinary guy who just loves every aspect of being a medical student. He speaks about anything relating to his field in Q&A form, through collaborations with other creators or by reacting to content online! Some of his recent content discusses whether COVID-19 has affected medical school, his discussion around his final medical school placement, how he survived the 2021 lockdown and also reacting to real Uk doctor experiences! He seems like a cheeky chappy, and he seems like he knows a lot about the profession he wants to get into, so if you need some scientific or medical advice, Doctor Ethan is the man for you!

Elliot Platt

I think I came across Elliot's Instagram profile several years ago whilst I was scrolling through my feed and seeing a variety of other singing covers, and his profile was on my explore page! He's a musician and singer/songwriter from Manchester in the UK and not only is he an incredibly attractive young man, but he also has the voice of an angel! He regularly posts snippts of covers and the full covers to his Instagram profile and also his YouTube channel - but it's a shame his SoundCloud profile hasn't been updated in 4 years! I think Elliot is definitely somebody to watch, and if he's not signed or given a platform within the next 5-10 years, I'll think about getting him onto a YouTube video when I eventually make my comeback in the near future!

Jamie O'Hara (a.k.a 'It's Me James')

The final creator I thought I would highlight on this blog post is a guy named Jamie O'Hara, who almost a year ago was just an ordinary content creator who had a few subscribers, and invited me to be part of one of his videos which was part of a series called 'What's in your gallery?'. After deleting all of his old content, his first Minecraft video was released back on April 5th 2019 with a Jamcraft Episode of 'Minecraft bedrock Survival...Let's Play!' and within a year he has amassed over 18 million channel videos and almost 100,000 total subscribers to his channel which is insane! I think that's the great but also scary thing about the Internet is, you could create one video which might 'blow up' and then you've got to make sure that you're consistently creating content that the audience will like but also what you enjoy creating, and then it's a win-win for everyone! I thought I'd add James onto my list of creators to watch because once he reaches 100,000 subscribers, he'll continue to grow and grow and grow! He could be the next famous gamer and we don't even know it!

I hope you enjoyed this little summary post of creators past and present who I've watched a variety of content of! From student doctors and vloggers, to comedy genuis' and Little Mix fans, I think I've watched a lot of niche content that different audiences love to watch! My YouTube channel was focusing on University, lifestyle, shopping and a lot of online collaborations (even before the coronavirus) and I made sure that I showcased my true personality, avoided drama where possible and made sure to have somewhere that I could store as many memories as possible from birthdays, gatherings, concerts, night's out and just thoughts and opinions I had at the specific times of recording and sharing my videos! But don't worry, once I have settled down in my own apartment, house or flat, I hope to come back to social media, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and maybe TikTok, and I also plan on starting to Twitch stream, as long as I can get all the technology sorted out beforehand!
