Hey everyone,
In today's blog post I will be reviewing a film I have recently watched called 'Smile'. Initially I thought it was a happy film but quickly realised that it was in fact a horror film. The main idea of the film is that when somebody is smiled at, they end up taking their own life for whatever reason. At the begining of the film we see a female character called Rose who seems to be a therapist and within minutes of speaking to one of her clients who admits to seeing ghosts and a presence, she ends up taking her own life in a very gruesome and distubring way.
Throughout the film, Rose is keen to find out why this happened and tried to track previous records of the patient to see if there was some pattern. Eventually the tables are turned and Rose becomes the victim of this figure, and I won't spoil the movie for you if you haven't see it, but it gets pretty graphic. Overall it was a great watch with some jump scare moments. It would be nice for a spin off or a future film to be created, but as a stand alone film, it does the job of terrifying you, but also showing the realness of people who have problems that they are dealing with such as hallucinations and being able to see things, other people are unable to see
