Hey everyone!
For today's music review, I stumbled across a song called 'Heaven' by an American singer songwriter called Pink Sweat$, which is a really cool name to begin with! So without any further, here's my review!
The interesting thing about this music video was the introduction, as there seemed to be a shot of an aircraft flying down to a pink Earth, before showing us a shot of Pink Sweat$ walking around a beautiful pink environment with people in white outfits running past him. There is a significant shot of him looking into the sky and being able to see the Earth, which suggests that they are somewhere out of this world, which later on is described as being heaven like...or I could have just read the song title! Some of the opening lyrics include 'I put my pride aside, I traded this whole life' which could identify that he has almost stopped trying to achieve his own goals and dreams, in order to be with the one he loves. He adds that it 'feels like Heaven when I'm with you'. There are various shots of children looking at him whilst he is singing, and the environment seems to be all pink, including the flowers, trees and even some of the props carried by those in the music video.
The next part of the music video shows a variety of slow tracking shots going from left to right, showing different people playing with skipping ropes, you're able to see butterflies, and I think it's showcasing all of the connotations of Heaven. As Pink Sweat$ walks through a pink field, all of the cast seem to have their eyes closed and holding onto a bouquet of pink flowers. There's another shot of him standing next to a lady with long black and red hair, who could be the person he is describing throughout this video, adding that 'I won't let these waves knock us down', suggesting that there will be difficult times in their relationship but they can get over that. The next scene shows people smiling and laughing, showing a woman playing the guitar with pink acrylic nails strumming the different notes, and a table of people looking into the distance, but seeming as if they are all looking up into the sky. At the end of the video, a white shape seems to appear in the sky, and there is a nice shot of somebody looking out into the pink universe! Lots of pink and lots of emotion being sung through the lyrics, so I'm very excited to hear anymore music released from Pink Sweat$!
