Hey everyone!
In today's blog post I will be reviewing a song called 'Moon & Stars' featuring Maggie Lindemann who is most well known for her single 'Pretty Girl' which has gained a lot of popularity over the last few years! Without further ado, here's my review to the track with $NOT the rapper and Maggie the singer!
The opening shot of the music video saw $NOT driving on a country road and stopping for Maggie who is seen wearing a black and red outfit holding a sign that reads 'Anywhere'. She jumps in his car and he explains that he can 'take you to the moon and the stars', adding that they're not going to go far. In the video, there are lots of shots of space, and the car that $NOT is driving can be seen flying over Earth, allowing the viewers to see parts of the galaxy. Maggie can be seen sitting quietly in the car, being taken to a variety of weird and wonderful places.
For Maggie's verse, she sings the line 'turn this suitcase into a home' which suggests that she would be happy spending more time than what she had originally packed for and explains that she likes it when somebody takes it too far, adding, 'but I'd rather be closer'. This could link quite well with space, as all of the planets, stars and parts of the galaxy are quite close together, so this could be the real life version of living up in the middle of space. Maggie also describes how she would like to be played with like a video game, which hints that she might want attention, love and affection, but also to be taken care of (or thrown around...as that's what lots of young gamers seem to do nowadays as well). The video ends with $NOT driving the both of them into the ground, and a final shot of $NOT with his black hoodie is shown with him looking directly into the camera.
