Mimi Webb 'Good Without' - Music Video Review

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey everyone,

This blog post will be a review of a new song called 'Good Without', by Mimi Webb. Her song was shared by TikTok star Charli D'Amelio and it helped Mimi gain a larger platform on social media. She released an EP called 'Stars' back in August 2020 featuring her first three singles!

In this music video, the overall vibe of the video is that she is seen with her group of girlfriends, and not a single sight of a male counterpart. At the beginning of the video she is seen in her bedroom and singing the lyrics 'never thought you'd forget me so fast' which is clearly talking about a previous relationship that she has been in, unsure of how she's been forgotten about so quickly. This line of lyrics signifies that the person who has 'forgotten her' may have already moved onto a new relationship or at least speaking to somebody new.

Later on in the video, Mimi is seen in a variety of outfits including a velvet dress in a room full of clothes and also a green outfit with a matchy fluffy green hat. Some of the girls are playing with her hair and they all look into the camera and mime some of the lyrics to the song, clearly helping Mimi get ready for a girls night in, instead of having to go out anywhere. She also sings the lyrics 'wondering why you're feeling down, if that's what love's about, then I'm so good without' almost explaining that if love makes people feel sad, she doesn't want to get involved with it, and instead seems to be happy with her group of friends.

At the end of the video there is a shot with Mimi holding a glass of wine with some of the other girls holding theirs into the shot, and there are a lot of different party props, wigs and costumes that make the video seem like a genuine party. The entire music video has lots of vintage colours including lots of light pinks, whites and an onverall modern vibe throughout.
