Hello! It's the second night of the LIVE shows...It should have aired on 31st October but due to the BBC News Special programme that saw Boris Johnson announce a National lockdown, it has been moved to tonight instead (with the final tomorrow night on 7th November 2020)! The 5 remaining bands now battle it out head - to - head to stay in the competition and make it to the final!
So, just a quick reminder of who the final 5 bands are: New Priority - Boy Band (@newpriorityband) Since September - Vocal + Instrumental Band (@sinceseptemberband)
Nostalia - Girl Band (@nostaliaband)
Melladaze - Girl Dance Group (@melladazeband)
YChange - Rap & R&B Group (@ychangeband)
To begin the episode, Little Mix performed a medley of some of their BEST BANGERS; 'Holiday' and 'Touch'!
After almost being eliminated last week, Melladaze were up first this weekend! Before their performance, they had a special video call with Zara Larsson, the sensational Swedish singer/songwriter. One piece of advice she gave the girls was making sure they know the words off by heart, and touched on the importance of rehearsing...no matter how much they think they know the words! Their dance and singing medley of Ava Max's 'Kings and Queens' and Rihanna's 'Where Have You Been?' was most certainly an improvement from their performance last week, filled with colour, special effects and a massive dance break! But, what reviews will they get from the girls? Leigh-Anne touched on the fact that they listened to the advice from last week and focused on the dancing instead of just the singing, with Jade commenting on the dance break and admitting they 'smashed it this week'.
Each of the girls were able to rate the performances a maximum of 25% each, and here's the first votings below: Leigh Anne - 23%
Jade - 24%
Jesy - 22%
Perrie - 23%

The second group to perform was the Rap R&B group YChange who topped the leaderboard last week! Let's see if they can pull off their performance AGAIN! They got a video call surprise from Stefflon Don who was able to give them some quality advice; including 'be in the moment' and think about how you want your audience to act to your performance. She said 'You've gotta bring it, swag it', admitted she would always be rewriting her lyrics and for her, songwriting was always a dream, now a reality! With an alternative version to 'Gotta Get Thru This', the debut single of Daniel Bedingfield; the quartet performed an incredible cover of the original song; with the girls on backing vocals and the boys on rap! Another colourful performance, and they were even able to name drop the other contestants in the competition! Jade mentioned that the two girls' vocals together blend really well, but unsure if the performance was better than last week's! Jesy added that they are natural born performers and she's never nervous before they perform!

The third group to perform are New Priority! Before their performance, they had a video call with Craig David who was able to give the boys some advice! He admitted that he's not a dancer, but told the boys to relax rather than to stress when they perform - especially as the girls told them to try and experiement with some more dance moves, calling them #BossesInTheGame! All dressed in white, they brought Ariana Grande's single 'Into You' to a new level, adding their own boy vibe! Chris Ramsey said they looked like 'sexy cricketers'...I hope that was a compliment? Jesy commented that when she told them last week to get some inspiration from Zeekay, she meant it in terms of their stage presence, not necessarily 'busting out dance moves' in the stage. All the girls agreed that there needs to be some new fresh boyband talent out there, and vocally 'they're there' - Jade said, but they need to work on the balance between vocals, rap and dancing!
Each of the girls were able to rate the performances a maximum of 25% each, and here's the first votings below: Leigh Anne - 20%
Jade - 20%
Jesy - 19% Perrie - 19% =78%
Up next is the vocal and instrumental band Since September! The girls organised a video call for the boys where they were able to speak to McFly before their semi final performance! They performed a practice attempt at Harry Styles' single 'Watermelon Sugar' to the boys and Tom Fletcher said that he loves how they all sound different and that's what makes them strong! One of the other band members added that '99% of being in a band is about rocking out and having fun'. They performed a slower version of the original single, but the crowd went wild and they all sounded really great together - from the solo opening vocals and electronic keyboard playing from Harrison, all the way until the end of the performance! Perrie stated that she would be in the front row of the performance because they were amazing, with Leigh Anne stating that the performance was great, and that the chemistry between two of the guitarists is really lovely to see! (And Patrick actually revealed that at 13 years old, he went to Harry's concert when he was 16 years old!)
Each of the girls were able to rate the performances a maximum of 25% each, and here's the first votings below: Leigh Anne - 22%
Jade - 23%
Jesy - 21% Perrie - 23% =89%
The fifth and final performance was from Nostalia, the female vocal group! The girls arranged for them to have a private videocall with Bebe Rexha to get some tips and tricks for how to perform well! Bebe admitted that when you feel out of your comfort zone, that's when you can perform better, so sometimes pushing yourself further and failing, helps you to reach a potential you never knew you could reach! Appearing on the stage again as a 5 piece, the girls took on the Stevie Wonder song 'As'. The girls all looked stunning in their silver outfits; a mix of tops, dresses and leggings (and Tamara has more solo parts, which Perrie said she needed to do; following their previous performance!). The performance ended with a puff of smoke and 5 shiny smiles from the girls! Leigh Anne said they seemed to be in their 'own league', Jade admitted that she almost felt on the floor, comparing them to the voices you would hear when you walk into Heaven and Jesy found it hard to critique their vocals, although their seemed to be a 'lack of conviction' at some points in the performance!).
Each of the girls were able to rate the performances a maximum of 25% each, and here's the first votings below: Leigh Anne - 23%
Jade - 25%
Jesy - 22% Perrie - 25% =95%
There was a special performance from boy band sensations 'McFly' performing their newest single 'Tonight Is The Night'. The performance finished with colourful confetti falling onto the boys...hinting at Little Mix's new album I see? Hmmm, intentional or unintentional? Either way, the performance was great!
After all the performances, it was down to the two lowest voted groups to battle it for the final place in the competition. It was 'Since September' the Vocal & Instrument Band against 'New Priority' the Boy Band and only ONE space was left in the competition. It was then over to the girls to decide who stays and who goes. The girls had a short time to decide who they wanted to keep in the competition. Leigh Anne voted for NEW PRIORITY!
Jade voted for SINCE SEPTEMBER!
Jesy voted for NEW PRIORITY! Perrie voted for SINCE SEPTEMBER!
As a vote couldn't be decided, they had to discuss amongst themselves whether the boy band or the mixed band are leaving the competition!
The girls decided to put Since September through to the final, and unfortunately the boy band New Priority were eliminated from the competition!
One of these 4 bands WILL be the opening act for Little Mix on their 'Confetti' tour in 2021!
