The fifth episode of the show was aired on 10th October 2020! During this episode, the girls of Little Mix were searching for a girl dance group, so let's see who wiggles their way to the final group!
'Let's coordinate with Liv' The first performance was by Liv who happens to be a family girl! Taking on Demi Lovato's 'Sorry Not Sorry' she varied the range from the original song and managed to impress the judges, especially with the little dance break between each verse! After admitting she didn't want to be on the bad side of Liv's Dad, Leigh-Anne said 'Yes', and she was the first girl to make it to the band room!
'Energetic Ellie' She admitted the saw Little Mix 7 years ago when she was only 10, and her day to day job is as a supermarket cashier, but she seemed to have a hidden singing talent (Maybe she should have started singing to the customers??). With her bright green trousers, she brought a bright texture to her performance...and she was the next to make it into the band room!
'Rhea the all-Rounder' With the moving of her hips she was able to bring a smile to each of the judges faces. Although her singing ability wasn't the best, her dancing was great, and Jesy admitted she had the perfect amount of sass and was also lovely to look at! She made it to the band room as well...(obviously!).
'Jolie the Junior' 16 year old Jolie took to the stage infront of Little Mix and she hoped it was her time to shine! Bravely taking on a song by Mabel, she managed to reach all of the high notes as well as changing up the notes but it seemed like she might have been running out of breath at some point during the performence. Both Leigh-Anne and Jesy admitted that her vocals were good, but once she moved it seemed like her vocals began to drift off! Perrie added that she might have just needed confidence into herself, and that Jolie had the best vocals out of all the girls they have seen so far, especially for 16!
'Megan W. the Machine' 18 year old dance teacher Megan W took to the stage, and wearing a corset, she was already impressing the judges! After getting into her performance pose, she performed Jessie J's 'Do It Like A Dude'. She also broke into a little bit of dance choreography which the girls 'Woo'd' too but Perrie admitted that she was on the fence as the dancing was apparently better than the vocals! Jade added that sometimes she seemed to be a little 'over rehearsed' at times, but let's see if the other girls agree!
'Fiaa the FosterFly' After revealing that she had a great friendship with her mum, she admitted that she was diagnosed with the bipolar disorder; but she helps creates music projects for children in care; which she describes as 'giving something back, whilst also trying to have a full time music career'. Jade described her as the 'baby spice' of the girl group and that every group needs a little bit of cuteness! Perrie added that vocally she wasn't the strongest, but Leigh Anne missed a bit of grit in the performance...
Other girls that performed included:
'Jittery Jasmine' (Who got 'Yes'!), 'Maddie the Mover' (Who got 'No'!),
and 'Kellah the Killer Dancer' (Who also got a 'No!')...Oops!
'Lauren; Let's Get Serious!' Leigh Anne asked what kind of role Lauren would play in a band, and she admitted she would be the 'hype man'. Taking on 'Your Song' by Rita Ora, she was getting lots of positive head bops from the girls - but it seemed like there was a lack of dancing! Jesy admitted that she wanted stronger vocals; and Lauren admitted she had a dance track ready, so performance number 2 gave her the opportunity to show off her dancing skills for the girls! Although Jesy said 'No', the other 3 girls put her through to the band room, and she was one step closer to the final line up of the girl dance band!
'Nataya the No.1 Mixer' With wise words from Grandma telling her to 'kick em dead', let's see if she's able to blow the audience away...but not literally! With a deep voice, she took on Becky Hill's 'I Could Get Used To This'! With her bright yellow shiny jumper, she was able to show off her singing and dancing abiltiies, whilst also keeping a smile on her face the entire time! The only comment Jade had, was that she wasn't sure if she would fit with the young dance group they are creating! Perrie added that he vocals were really strong, and with a bit of polishing she could be even better! Let's see if she makes the final group!
'Aisli the Angel' The final girl to audition was Aisli (with a little flick on the letter i)! She comes from a musical family, sings at school when she's not supposed to...so what better way to showcase that talent than to apply for a singing show! She took on Little Mix's original song 'Woman Like Me' (which was very risky to do), but she has a great voice and her outfit was great as well! jesy said her 'lower register' was great, but Jade and Perrie both said that her dancing was a little bit stiff at times; but the vocal ability cannot be taught, she was just gifted with the voice she was given! She was the last girl to make it to the band room!
All 9 of the auditonees that made the band room were then sent to rehearsals to perform in different sub groups to see which of them sounded well together! They said Fiaa was in her own world but a bit 'all over the place'! They admitted they liked Jasmine, but they weren't blown away by her! Lauren was apparently the strongest dancer out of everyone, but in terms of vocals she was one of the weakest!
Jasmine & Fiaa got sent home, and therefore the other 7 battled it out to see who would make the final singing and dancing girl band! They took to a live performance infront of a selected crowd of Little Mix fans, and only a maximum of 5 were to make the final band!
The top 5 who made the girl dance group were;
Megan, Ellie, Liv, Aisli & Lauren
(which meant Nataya & Rhea were also eliminated from the process!)
That's all for Episode 5, tune in tomorrow to see the final auditionees who were battling for a place in the final group created by the girls, the R&B/Pop group!
