The fourth episode of the show was aired on 4th October 2020! During this episode, the girls of Little Mix were searching for a variety of male and female musicians to be put into a vocal/instrumental group!
'Oh Harry' The first person to perform was Harry, who was in a previous band from age 8 to 18...but decided to continue in his music career as a solo artist! With his unbuttoned shirt, it felt like we were at a gig of Harry's; as he played the guitar along with having a lovely young rocker voice! #LikeAZombie...It seemed like Jade liked his performance by saying 'it's almost like they all paid £10 turning up to his concert'.
'Joe the Jolly Office Worker' Up next was Joe who...instead of working in an office cleaning toilets, wants to be a musician full time! Perrie said that he had an 'old school' kind of voice...and with three Yes' (other than Jade, he made it to the band room)
'Cara the Chatty Hairdresser' The first female performer was Cara, and she also plays the guitar! Her casual outfit and lovely voice gave her enough Yes' from the judges - including Leigh Anne who admitted she 'knows what kind of band she could see Cara in'!
'Morgan the Musical Student' At only 16 years old, I think Morgan's performance will be very memorable; as his style is intersting, along with his soothing voice! He looks great, sounds great and the black nail polish helps him stand out from some of the other singers - with Jade admitting he was the 'best singer of the day so far'!
'Riley the Little Rocker' Admitting he was a super McFly fan, what better audition song to sing, than a McFly song? At only 18 years old, his voice was also super soothing - and I loved his outfit as well which was blue dungarees, a white jumper and black and white vans! Leigh Anne said that he makes her smile and Jesy admitted he had a really strong voice, but wasn't sure what type of band he would fit in! He didn't make it through the auditions, but hopefully this won't be the end of his musical career! Remember the name Riley!
'Power Stance Patrick' After the girls complimented 'front man' Patrick on his hair, it was over to him to see if his vocals were just as lovely! With his husky cover of George Ezra's 'Blame It On Me', all the girls seemed to like the performance, and those already in the band room thought his performance was good too! Perrie admitted that she thinks he's got a lot of charisma, and she really enjoyed the performance - but Jesy admitted he missed out on the showmanship of his performance! He made it to the band room anyways, so let's see if he will just dance a little more!
'Dia the Dance-phobe' After admitting she plays the guitar, keyboard and drums, the girls praised her on having the 'whole package'. With her unique look of incredibly slick back black hair and a black and gold jacket, she belted out an amazing singing audition; especially when reaching the incredibly high and incredibly low notes! Jesy loved her 'natural swag' and Jade commented that her performance was 'effortless'! It was 4 obvious Yes', and Dia made it to the band room...but will she make the final vocal/instrumental band???
'Jacob the Perrie Lover' In his video tape be admitted he might be a little boring, which from looking at him must be untrue! His little sister is a massive fan of Little Mix who wants to show off her dance moves, but she also has confidence in her brother to make it into a band! He was under enough pressure to audition; with Jesy adding 'sing this one to Perrie' just before he began. With his black jacket and orange t shirt, he shined through his performance; and Leigh Anne said they were 'waiting to be moved' and he did that to them! Perrie described his performance as a 'rich tea biscuit'. He received 4 Yes' and made it to the band room! The nerves paid off and he impressed his Little Mix Lover!
Then it was over to Little Mix member Leigh-Anne who 'performed' for the other three, and she made it to the band room...but sadly she won't actually be in the vocal/instrument band!
'Jack Raymond the Jiggler' He wanted the girls to enjoy the Jack Raymond experience, so with a collection of over 15 guitars, let's see if one of them could could impress! His performance started off really relaxed, and then he transitioned into a rock song by Led Zepplin, making the girls go into fits of laughter and confusion! Also, Jack's legs did the little 'jiggly thing' - hence why that is part of his nickname! Jade admitted that it felt like he was playing with a whole band around him, and although he made the girls smile, they delivered 'No's and said, they didn't really hear much of his vocals - so Jade was the only one that gave him a Yes!
'Billy the Busker' His busking funds for his beers, but he wants to get off the streets and into a band! He wrote an original song for his Grandma, about his Grandad, and he decided to perform that song as a tribute for the judges! Whilst he was performing, Leigh Anne compared it to an Ed Sheeran song that she must've heard before...but I can assure you all, that it is an original song! The first comment was from Jesy who said 'He did his grandparents proud' adding that it's the first time she thinks somebody meant all of the words they were singing!
'Matthew the Mad Strummer' From Dublin, Ireland, he brought his green t shirt and blue denim shirt to the Little Mix auditions - but admitted he wanted to marry an English girl because he loves how they speak! Jesy said that 'he's cheeky and the girls would love him', and I can add on that the guys would probably go crazy for him too! For only 20 years, and known as someone who works in a bank, you wouldn't have guessed he would have had such an amazing voice! Leigh Anne added that he walked into the room and it might have been the Irish accent that kept them engaged! Perrie loved his personality and vibe...but not sure if he was suitable for the vocal/instrumental band! After Jade saying 'No', Jesy and Leigh Anne saying 'Yes', it was down to Perrie as to whether he made it through to the band room! Matthew joked that his journey back to Dublin was very far away...and he managed to persuade her to say 'Yes'!
All 9 of the auditonees that made the band room were then sent to rehearsals to perform in different sub groups to see which of them sounded well together! It seemed like they were split into a louder/more rocky group, and a more quieter group! They admitted Harry was the only one that brought his best performance. They said Dia didn't really manage to bring it, especially because she didn't necessarily know the song. Matthew had a good voice; Jacob and Morgan were both on keyboard, but Jacob showed that he had better timing - and Jesy added that Joe didn't have 'that thing' that they want in a band. They all agreed that Cara was a little too sweet, and Patrick 'has it' - but didn't bring it to the group performance today; either in vocals or energy! It was a very difficult decision for the girls, but let's see what happened!
Morgan & Cara got sent home, and therefore the other 7 battled it out to see who would make the final vocal/instrumental band! They took to a live performance infront of a selected crowd of Little Mix fans, and only a maximum of 4 were to make the final band!
The top 4 who made the vocal/instrumental band were;
Harry, Jacob, Patrick & Matthew
(which meant Dia, Joe & Billy were also eliminated from the process!)
That's all for Episode 4, tune in next week to see what happens in the next set of auditions when the girls search for their first girl dance group!
