Little Mix 'The Search' (2020) - Episode 3

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

The third episode of the show was aired on 3rd October 2020! During this episode, the girls of Little Mix were searching for female singers to be put into a female singing group!

Pictured Above: 'Liz' from Chester and 'Tyler' from London

'Tamara the Talented girl from Wales' The first girl to perform was Tamara, who's from a small town in Wales that only has two takeaways! She had a nice voice, but she seemed really nervous and wasn't moving much on the stage...Leigh Anne loved the way she performed, including the break in her voice with Jade adding that she still seems to be finding the artist that she wants to be, but enjoyed the performance! After having received a 'No' from Perrie, she had to persuade Jade as to whether she should get through to the next round...Jade seemed to be easily persuaded, and Tamara was the first girl who made it t the band room!

'Liz the Lovely Waitress' Up next was Liz! Compared to her standard performances in her Nan's church, she performed a rendition of Ella Eyre's rendition for the 4 girls of Little Mix! She has a really powerful husky voice and did the song justice! She was also wearing a really lovely white, black and pink dress! Perrie admitted that the standards were very high in the competition; and both she and Jesy said 'No', which meant she didn't get through!

'Tyler the Twin Sister' Before she sang, I was rooting for her because she's from London, but let's see if she's a good singer! Her cover of 'Circles' by Mariah Carey went down a treat with the judges, and her soothing voice was really nice to listen to! Other than singing at home, she doesn't have any other singing experience, but she's got a natural talent of singing - and the ability to riff almost any pitch of note!

'Shanice the Sassy Serenader' Previously part of a choir, she's got experience of working with other people, so she could be a great addition to a girl group! Attempting the same audition song that Jesy Nelson performed when she was on The X Factor UK, Shanice brought a smile to each of the girls' faces; and it will probably be a memorable performance espeically because she had bright red high heel shoes (I'm not jealous at all)...Perrie said that 'her voice was out of this world' and Leigh Anne said she wanted to 'hear more' and 'turn up the notch' on her next performances!

'Roukaya the Rice Lady' Manchester girl Roukaya was next up to perform - after testing the girls on whether they order white or brown rice at the burrito bar. Having only sung for 6-7 months, let's see if the can 'build a better foundation for her family' as she mentioned in the performance. Lizzo's 'Juice' was the song of choice, and it's clear that she was able to bring sass and confidence to her performance, as well as showing that she's got good dance moves and she's also got a knack for rapping! (And she also looks like a young Mabel; oh if you don't know who Mabel is, check out her latest album 'High Expectations'!!)...

'Jessica the Junior' 16 year old Jessica took the stage next! From a family of musicians and singers, you'd think she would be great? Well, she was! Although she managed to run out of breath several times, she 'brought the sass to the stage' - according to Jess, and she has a 'really strong vocal'. One of the comments from Jade, is that she seemed a bit 'too R&B/Poppy' for what they were looking for, and she didn't make it to the band room!

'Mya-Louise the Mad Cook' Admitting that she speaks to herself, she took to the stage to try and create magic, through her voice! With a black and white top and caramel coloured trousers, she had a lovely outfit and an even more lovely singing voice! Jesy admitted that she was 'cool', Jade said that 'she didn't need to oversing' - which is true, and she brings 'texture' and 'richness' to the girlband, said Perrie!

Other singers that performed for the judges included:

'Olympia' (who got a Yes!),

'Esther the Energetic Selfie Taker' She was the final singer of the auditions! With her dark blue hair and dark blue dress, I don't think she's going to be a forgettable character, and after admitting she'll bring the energy to her performances, let's see if her voice is just as energetic! While she was singing, it felt like I was in the R&B room of a nightclub because her voice was so smooth and sassy, and the huskiness of her voice was also really raw! She made it to the band room, but now it was over to the girls of Little Mix to decide if she was suitable for the final girl band!

All 7 of the auditonees that made the band room were then sent to rehearsals to perform in different sub groups to see which of them sounded well together! They asked the girls to perform in two different sub groups and it seemed like they all brought what they girls were looking for! Perrie admitted that Tyler was a 'star, Shanice was the 'mother figure'/'glue' of the group, Tamara brought the performance and Perrie said she would change her mind from a 'No' to a 'Yes'! They loved Mya-Louise's old school vocals, Olympia didn't perform to her best ability - and Jade mentioned to the group that they should think about whether they were making a group based on vocals or who looks well together!

None of the girls got sent home, and therefore they all battled it out to see who would make the final girl band! They took to a live performance infront of a selected crowd of Little Mix fans, and only a maximum of 5 were to make the final band!

The top 5 who made the girl band were;

Shanice, Esther, Mya-Louise, Tamara & Tyler

(which meant Roukaya & Olympia were also eliminated from the process!)

That's all for Episode 3, tune in tomorrow to see what happens in the next set of auditions when the girls form their vocal and instrumental group!
