Liam Payne 'Teardrops' - Audio Review

Hey everyone,

For today's music video I will be analysing some of the lyrics to Liam Payne's new song 'Teardrops'. There isn't a music video at the time of this blog post, but the song seems to be an emotional love ballad where he sings about now being able to love, when he feels broken. Some of the opening lyrics include the words 'maybe your words make sense, I could be the problem', almost suggesting that during his difficult time, he isn't able to piece together what somebody is saying.

He goes on to sing the line 'not sure how we come back from this softly' which could reveal that there has been a difficult breakup or bad situation that has happened, and although they both want to try and resolve it, it's not something that will be easily achievable. Liam also goes on to sing the lyrics 'checking what I did last night', which could suggest that it was a heavy night, or that people do things without thinking and post content online for the world to see, and in the morning they regret it. 'I hate it when I make you cry...I don't know how to love you when I am broken too' also suggest that Liam is in a difficult place, and it also shows that he can be emotional, and that he doesn't like people to be upset when around him. His words of 'when I am broken too' suggest that the person he may have had a connection with may also feel like their heart is broken, so it's almost like both of them need to be fixed before they can resolve anything and move on.

Towards the end of the song, he sings the words 'any room to hold you' several times, which could suggest that he just wants to get close and personal with this person whether in the form of a cuddle or just 'to hold' in order to feel safe. He also changes to a higher pitch on the final verse, as well as singing a lot of 'oooh's which bring the song to a slow close. It was a lovely track to listen to, and I'm excited for more singles and albums to come from Liam in the upcoming months and years!

That's all for today's review, until next time... goodbye!
