Josie Man 'One of Those Days' - Music Video Review

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey everyone,

In today's review, I'll be watching Josie Man's new music video for a track called 'One of Those Days' which was released several days ago! She's currently an unknown artist with around 2.9k subscribers on her YouTube channel and this song popped up in the recommended section, so I thought I'd have a listen!

At the beginning of the video, Josie is seen wearing a very bright flowery dress and is lying across a messy sofa bed. Some of the opening lyrics include 'all I see outside is grey' which could relate to things not being colourful and not being able to see the usual crowds of people that we used to see before. During the video she is seen wearing different styles of outfits, walking through different enrivonments such as a council estate, a park and even down the street next to a bus stop. She explains that 'something tell ms I'll be better in the morning' which almost hints that she's not having a good day currently, and is hoping that the following day is different.

The lyrics of the song are sang with angelic vocals and the variety of shots makes the music video really interesting to watch and engage with as a viewer. She continues with lyrics such as '...in the garden for the perfect picture' and 'all my messages won't stop now' which are common phrases that a lot of us are probably getting used to over the last years; constantly trying to take great pictures for social media, and on our phones 24/7 as we're not allowed to go anywhere else. Other shots see her walking into a grocery store, hanging around a train station and she explains that 'I missed the bus and then the train walked a mile...just to come home again' which again are lyrics that people can relate to. The fact that we are still allowed to use public transport is a blessing within itself. but we're forever just using them to come back home, rather than being able to see friends, go to large gatherings or have an ordinary lifestyle, until the newest restrictions are lifted in the near future.

The final shot of Josie can be seen standing in a pink waterproof jacket and holding a matching pink umbrella above her head, singing the words 'hopefully I'll be just fine'. The shot zooms out and you can see a guy who has been holding a watering can over her head, which adds a comedic flavour to the music video. Josie is seen picking up a pillow and holding it upto the camera, which brings the video to a close!
