Hey everyone,
In today's review I will be discussing another Christmas related film that came out towards the end of the year called 'Carry On'. In short, TSA Officer Ethan Kopek is the second choice suspect to be used as an assistant to get a piece of luggage through the security system without checking it or opening it to investigate the item. This film is set on rthe day of Christmas Eve, so the airports are extremely busy, and throughout the film, Ethan has an ear piece where he is being spoken to by an anonymous man, giving him instructions and blackmailing him to listen, otherwise he will lose his girlfriend and other innocent people might lose their lives during the process.
Throughout the film you can understand Ethan's stress levels as he is trying to juggle work, persuade his colleague on the security machine to switch positions with him...and in the end he ends up getting his colleague fired after switching a drink of water for alcohol, making it seem like he was drinking on the job. In the end, the baggage and the man with the red hat manage to get through security, and there is a 25 random person hand search that is conducted, and Ethan decides to edit one of the names to that individual...just to see if this a way for the items to be checked and it not be Ethan's fault. He ends up searching the case alongside the man who was told to bring the package through security, and they begin working as a team to try and diffuse the item in the suitcase.
Unknowingly to Ethan, the anonymous individual is speaking to both Ethan and the man in the red hat at the same time and makes them fight for survival, with Ethan managing to kill him. In the end, his girlfriend Nora Parisi who also works at the airport is advising the flight to not leave the base, as the prohibited item could be on there...somehow the anonymous man and Ethan end up at the botom of the aircraft, and Ethan manages to diffuse the suitcase once again and become the hero at the end of the movie. I won't include the full details but it was a good watch and definitely one of those films where you're always thinking about what's going to happen next!
