The 8 acts that performed in the second semi finals were;
The Coven,
Aaron and Jasmine,
Damien O'Brien,
Allan Finnegan,
Class Dynamix,
Honey and Sammy,
Amanda and Miracle and
Souparnika Nair!
The first act of the second semi-finals was 10 year old 'Souparnika Nair', originally from India, who performed a beautiful rendition of a song from 'Neverland'...I've not heard the song before, but her voice is so powerful and she's definitely already a star in the making! At 10 years old, I didn't even know how to hold a microphone, let alone sing my heart out! The set was beautiful with a mix of purples surrounding her on the stage, and I'm sure you will remember her for the next coming years!
Act number 2, 'Damien O'Brien', a magician (previously a personal trainer) from London. He asked each of the judges to give him an answer to a question; including Ashley Banjo's favourite time and date, a date that Amanda Holden's career changed, the country Alesha Dixon wanted to get famous in Japan and David Walliams' best piece of advice...
Damien put the pre-made block back into the iPhone case, and the dates and times that the judges mentioned, were featured on the phone, and before the performance he asked Ashley Banjo to pick a word which was 'Incredible', and the word was written on the sketchbook which was infront of the judges the entire performance! It was a mind boggling performance but very impressive, AND he's also performed at Ashley's wedding, which is an achievement and honour in itself!
Up next was 'Class Dynamix', a group of school kids from Leeds, who sung in their audition about how bullying shouldn't be happening. In their semi final performance they sang about how they are all 'unique', 'orignal', 'powerful' and 'incredible' among other things...an inspiring and strong song about being confident within yourself! It was filmed on what looked like an outdoor playground, and it's always nice to see young children being brave and confident when deliving important messages through song lyrics!
'Allan Finnegan', a stand up comedian, who used to be a builder and now a church reverand/minister took to the stage to perform an interesting set...he was standing behind what looked like a church set, speaking about Hilda's unfortunate death, or was it Jean, Jan, Anna? It was a funny performance but I'm not sure if it was enough for him to get into the final!
The next act was by 'Amanda and Miracle', a mother and dog who became close after their first meeting...Miracle is one of many animals that as rescused, and has created an incredibly strong bond with her son. It was a very difficult performance to watch, but it shows how a bond can be created between humans and animals, just by loving and caring for them, and not abandoning them...At the end of the performance, the 'puppet dog' disappeared, and by miracle, Miracle appeared!
The 6th act to perform were 'Aaron and Jasmine', a GORGEOUS and friends only dance duo from London. Emerging from the darkness, the twists, turns and powerful dance moves throughout the whole of the performance made me repeatedly say 'WOW', and the dance chemisty between them looked strong! Towards the end of the performance, the fire saw an appearance on the stage and it brought the dance to a dramatic and amazing close! It seemed like a spy scene out of James Bond or something!
'Honey and Sammy' were the 2nd last act to perform during the semi finals after receiving the golden buzzer from Amanda Holden...and they sang one of my FAVOURITE songs; 'Girl Crush'. The mother and daughter duo looked amazing on the stage, with shimmering golden lights all around them and after the emotional performance, they had a warm embrace.
The final performance was by 'The Coven', a scary dance act...it was three minutes of scary dancing, which made the judges scream within seconds of arriving on the stage. The energy of each of the dancers in the performance was astounding and it seemed like they must have put a lot of hard work into the performance! I think it was the best way to end the semi final, but I won't be sleeping for a few days now (at least)!
My top three acts from this evening:
Souparnika Nair (Singer), Aaron and Jasmine (Dancers) and Honey and Sammy (Singers)
'McFly', performed a one off special performance for the judges and the audience at home! My favourite is Tom...but I don't know what his full name is! The stage was filled with colour, joy, happiness and massive 'thank you's to the NHS. Luckily none of the judges buzzed...so that's always good!
The judges chose their top three acts...
SOUPARNIKA NAIR, AARON AND JASMINE and THE COVEN
The judges had to pick their favourite act to send to the finale...
David Walliams chose AARON AND JASMINE
Alesha Dixon chose THE COVEN
Ashley Banjo chose THE COVEN
Amanda Holden chose AARON AND JASMINE too, making them safely into the final, as 'head judge' is Amanda!
And that's Episode 2 complete!
