Hey everyone,
In today's music video review I will be watching and listening to Bhad Bhabie's new video for her latest release 'Miss Understood' on 17th September 2021. After rising to fame on Dr Phil and appearing twice, she's been in the spotlight for 5 years and counting and now at 18 years old, I am very excited what she will go on to do in the future.
The beginning of the video showed Bhad Bhabie standing around lots of money while it was flying around her. There were lots of fast shots showing screens and close up shots of her face, which could signify that there are pending videos that are soon to be released. Some of the initial lyrics include the words 'they say I'm trouble, but maybe I'm just Miss Understood' which are words that I think a lot of her fans would agree with, in the fact that people were quick to judge her based on a few minutes of appearing on a television show, and automatically disregarding anything that she went on to do, purely because she has had a difficult upbringing. In the first part of the video she can be seen wearing a very tight black bra and bottoms with high black boots, with a spotlight on her for the entire video.
She goes on to rap about some important things to her and expressing that she is a lot happier now although she has had to deal with a lot of difficult experiences in her lift. She explains that she's 'married in my money, that;s the only man I will ever trust', hinting that she may have had luck with boys so far, but that it's also easier to be in total control when it's only you in a relationship with yourself. She goes on to explain her record breaking achievement of making 'more millions on OnlyFans than you b*tches in 20 minutes', which could be seen as a slight dig to her haters who said that she would never be successful or sent her any negative or abusive messages over the years, whether they be personal, direct insults towards her or even her music. She goes on to explain that she is very busy, going from 'booth to shoot, and shoot to show', adding that it's 'kinda hard not to change; that's the price of the fame when they all know your name'. For this scene she is sitting in a taxi and I guess she's right when she says that it's difficult to change, because you're in the public eye, and people are watching every single thing that you do.
Bhad Bhabie also goes on to explain that 'when your friends turn to foes, you gotta stay up on your toes' which is why it is so important to have your close group of friends around you, but know that they could be temporary and that you have to focus on putting yourself first in every single situation in order to make sure that you are successful first, and then you are able to have a stable life and further down the line, share that success with your true friends and supportive family. Bhad Bhabie goes on to say that her 'bank account is full of 0's' and also touches upon the fact that she 'got hated on for so long' which is quite sad for her to have gone through at such a young age, but being an influencer or a social media star will lead to you have opinions thrown at you from all sorts of people, who are either successful of your overnight success or just want to have an opinion to feel like they are involved with the trend. She goes on to add that she is a trendsetter, and questions the audience to say 'you wanna hear my story, here it goes'. The final shot of the music video is the same shot as the beginning with Bhad Bhabie sitting in the chair in the spotlight saying that the feels like she has been misunderstood but can also be referred to as 'Miss Understood' - which is a good play on words! We also saw a snippet of a future music video which shows her wearing high black heels walking into a classroom, looking like a young teacher.
