Anne-Marie & Little Mix 'Kiss My (Uh Oh)' - Music Video Review

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Hey everyone,

For today's music video I am watching the newest collaboration between Anne-Marie and Little Mix on a song called 'Kiss My (Uh Oh)'.

At the beginning of the music video, Anne-Marie can be seen walking down the isle of a plane wearing a black and white top and tight blue jeans, seeming very excited about going on a holiday and she is told by one of the cabin crew to go back to her seat. Little Mix's Perrie and Leigh-Anne are seen sitting next to an elderly gentleman and it looks like Leigh-Anne takes a piece of his food before laughing and quickly looking away. Perrie's opening lyrics include the line 'you don't know what you've got until it's gone' which helps me to realise that this is a self motivation song for people to understand their worth and realise that they are not a second option.

During the chorus, Anne-Marie sings the lyrics 'why you only love me when you're walking away'. The girls walk into a room filled with balloons, balloons, makeup stylists and alcohol with a lot of NYX branded items in shot. The girls can be seen dancing on a bed in their dressing gowns, and a lit up crown can be seen above the bed, explaining that they are musical royalty. Anne-Marie can then be seen walking into a new room, wearing a wedding outfit and veil, carrying shots to the bar for all of her friends to drink. During Jade's solo verse she sings the lyrics 'I know the game you play, all you did boy was you made me strong', with Perrie and Leigh-Anne getting front row seats on that stylish bed able to watch the performance through FaceTime, unable to dance because they were both pregnant at the time of this music video being recorded. Anne-Marie's other lyrics include the words 'while I'm leaving I see you staring, but boy you can kiss my uh oh' which suggests that the girls are putting themselves first, and the boys can stare as much as they want, but she isn't going to go running back to them

The final part of the music video saw a group of men in black outfits, dancing and stripping for the girls, with Jade explaining that the boys can talk 'about the time we had' but it wasn't going to win them back. The overall celebration for the video seemed to be for a hen party, and both Anne-Marie and Jade joined the boys on the stage for the finishing part of the show. As per usual, there were very strong vocals from all of the girls and it was a very entertaining and powerful music video to watch! Anne-Marie was also thrown in the air by one of the dancers and she seemed to enjoy it, just as much as Perrie and Leigh-Anne did, through their emotions during the video call with the girls at the strip show!
