Ok, so I'm sure there is a LOT of content being created about Adele's amazing weight transformation, but there is still a lot of negativity that is going around social media!
Firstly, I'm sure many people will agree that Adele looked absolutely gorgeous before her massive transformation, and actually it was just how she was as an individual...she wasn't overweight or unhealthy, that's just how she was! There are so many images that I am seeing online that compares her 'new body to her 'old body'...Her body is the same, she may have just gone through some trauma and may want to reinvent herself in a new way (which isn't a problem!).
According to a few dieticians that have been interviewed through all forms of media, it's said that she was on a 'Sirtfood Diet' which basically just means eating healthier food, being active in terms of physical activity...and you're allowed to drink red wine!
I believe one of the main reasons Adele decided to 'break the Internet' is because everybody is currently in lockdown and she's just wanting to spend time with her family privately...Others suggest this massive weight loss was due to her recent breakup with ex husband Simon Konecki and her wanting to 'evolve into somebody new'. All of those rumours are JUST rumours, but I have learnt a few things from this post going viral.
(1)- No matter how you look, people are going to judge you.
(2)- People often don't care about whether what they say will hurt your feelings
(3)- Celebrities 'don't read messages and posts' (They do, they choose to ignore them!)
(4)- Celebrities have personal trainers (Maybe they do, but you could easily motivate yourself?)
(5)- Adele will always be an amazing singer, it doesn't matter what she looks like...You don't decide to go to her concert because of how she looks, you go because you want to listen to her voice.
I think the one thing I will take from this situation is that when somebody posts something on social media that is supposed to be seen as a positive change, or as something that embraces exactly how they feel, the Internet just try and tear down people as much as possible, whether that be for attention, trolling, or just because they want a few cheeky Instagram follows because they are posting an attention seeking comment!
Anyways, I thought I would just create a blog post about this to let people know that comparing people's weights and giving opinions where they are not needed, isn't a nice thing to do. Don't go tweeting and posting things about her, and then pretend you're one of her 'biggest fans'. It doesn't work like that.
