I came back to JLGB from May 2018 to August 2018 to work over the summer before I started my second year of University. I pretty much did a similar job to the year before, but I was given a lot more opportunities and flexible hours as I had already gained a year of experience the year before. I received a pay rise as well (which wasn't asked for and I didn't actually realise this until I began checking bank statements)...
Coming back a year later, I was able to meet and connect with new members of staff, especially those who weren't working at JLGB previously. I was also able to give tutorials to the new staff and give them advice on how to do particular tasks (as they trusted me due to my previous experience). This included tasks such as answering the phones, accessing the relevant databases to find information about the DofE/NCS participants and chase up people who hadn't submitted their information for their physical, skill and voluntary sessions along with other tasks that I would sometimes take a lead on if somebody wasn't in the office that day.
I also attended the Summer back this year, was an extra member of staff on the NCS programme and helped out on the DofE Expeditions in a variety of roles; including creating content and posting on social media, a variety of admin work and giving live demonstrations or talks.
To see what else I got upto, I made a playlist of videos at JLGB, so you can view those below:
